Arctic Blast '08

Every year in Portland the media gets us all hyped up about the next impending 'Storm of the Century'

Usually it amounts to very little and melts the next day. This year they were not bluffing.

We had 14" this morning and it is still coming down. The wind is blowing and there are 3' drifts in some spots.

There are layers of 1" ice between the snow creating a most treacherous confection.

Buses are stuck or sliding off the road even using chains.
I am impressed and grateful for a large yarn stash and a warm house.

I love that picture of the snow laden mesh...very cool! And that treacherous confection shot is great!!

Yes...we're very blessed to have acquired such voluminous stashes!

Stay safe and warm, and knitting!!

Those pictures are gorgeous!! And I agree, even better if you are inside with a large yarn stash and warm!

Happy Holidays!
