# 1 Ladies Bookclub in the Park

Every August my bookclub meets in our neighborhood park. Our newest member, Ashley is 9 months pregnant. She and her husband moved here recently from Texas and are still settling in.
We thought some knitterly Stumptown hospitality was in order.

Ashley was surprised and elated by all her goodies, especially the gift certificate to the spa just for moms (who knew) and all the handmade baby knits.

I was pretty happy about the wine and the beautiful cupcakes with flowers from Sarah's garden!

All the food and good company

And a lace pattern that is lovely yet easy enough to knit while socializing.
Behold WIP Shetland Triangle
I can hardly put it down it is so soothing to knit. The yarn is Aran Silky Merino in 'Sangria over Garnet' from Sundara.
We are off to Joseph Oregon for a week. I'm not sure if I can block a lace shawl while on vacation, but I'm sure gonna try!

Okay, 3, no 4, things:

1. That shawl is amazing. I have had such a silk hankering lately... I really have to get mine dyed up.
2. New camera??
3. Have an excellent vacation!
4. Is your book club accepting new members? :)

1.Thank you and yes I cannot wait to see yours dyed. I want more in green, Sundara delayed her posting :( probably a good thing.
2. Yes, I got a new Canon Digital Elph at Costco, loves it a lot.
3. Thanks again, I will be leaving any minute when my caravan of hubby and dogs arrives to collect me.
4. Yes, our next meeting is September 17th, I will add you and Katie to the e-mail list?

What a lovely shawl, Courtney; the color is fabulous! I'm starting on the Bee Fields Shawl with some of Bob's new laceweight...pink, of course! I'm going to post my swatch soon. The yarn is already there. And what a wonderful book club you're involved in :)
